QA Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in all QA activities within the team.
  • Assist with both manual testing and the existing automated test framework.
  • Set up and maintain the test environment, ensuring the latest software builds are installed and configured on VMs (Windows and Linux).
  • Conduct manual testing of new features and regression tests across multiple platforms.
  • Test the back-end services and integrations between various services.
  • Support and update existing automation scripts in Perl and Python, and perform API testing (REST).
  • Perform product testing in the Cloud (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Report bugs and track them in JIRA, and manage test cases in TestRail.
  • Actively contribute to the planning, development, and discussion of QA strategies, test plans, and scope for test automation.
  • Maintain detailed QA documentation (Confluence) for new features and services, sharing knowledge with the team.
  • Adhere to QA best practices in daily activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the QA Manager and other QA team members, as well as the DEV/Scrum team.
  • Work as part of a Scrum team to deliver functionality, enhancements, and fixes on schedule.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of experience as a QA engineer, testing complex desktop and web applications.
  • A degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Linux.
  • In-depth knowledge of web applications and technologies, such as JWT tokens, HTTPS, Web Servers, REST APIs, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, Cookies/sessions, and browser differences.
  • Experience in API testing.
  • Practical experience in performing various types of functional and non-functional testing.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, processes, and best practices.
  • Ability to configure and manage test environments across multiple platforms (VMware).
  • Extensive experience in test case management (preferably using TestRail).
  • Basic experience in test automation scripting (Bash, Shell, Perl, Python).
  • Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, EC2, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (preferably Scrum).
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working with a distributed team.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new or unfamiliar technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.

Desirable:

  • Experience in publishing or content management.
  • Experience in performance/load testing and using monitoring tools (JMeter or similar).
  • Experience with setting up secure web servers.
