Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator for a long-term contract role supporting a public sector migration project. The position involves transitioning an internal application from MS Access to PostgreSQL and developing a web-based front end.

Responsibilities:

• Lead database migration and modernisation efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a secure, optimised solution
• Support front-end development of the new web interface
• Maintain clear technical documentation
• Ensure best practices in backup, recovery, and database performance

Technical Skills:

• 6+ years' experience with PostgreSQL and SQL
• Solid knowledge of Linux and scripting
• Experience with web UI development
• Strong database design, security, and optimisation skills
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
