DevOps Engineer

A technology organisation is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support and evolve a global, AWS-based, serverless platform. The role focuses on cloud infrastructure, automation, reliability, observability, and security within a distributed engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Manage AWS infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, ECS) and serverless components.

• Support deployments using Terraform/CloudFormation.

• Monitor systems, maintain dashboards, and configure alerts.

• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in an on-call rotation.

• Implement security best practices, IAM policies, and secrets management.

• Optimise cloud costs and support multi-region reliability.

• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure/SRE roles.

• Strong AWS experience, especially with serverless services.

• Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Experience with observability tools (ELK, Grafana, Datadog, or similar).

• CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions or equivalent).

• Strong incident response, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Security-minded with experience in IAM and secrets management.

• Comfortable with an on-call rotation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kafka/Kafka Connect.

• Familiarity with platforms like Vercel, Clerk, or Inngest.

• Knowledge of monorepos (Nx.js) and cloud cost optimisation.
