Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer (AWS, Cloud-Native SaaS)
We're an established, growing software company building a brand-new cloud-native SaaS platform on AWS, and we're looking for a Senior DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to help lay the foundations and scale it from the ground up.
This is a hands-on role within a small, high-impact product engineering team. There's no existing Ops or SRE function - you'll be instrumental in shaping the tooling, processes, and best practices that power our platform as we prepare to launch a new cybersecurity product.
What you'll do
Design, build, and evolve AWS infrastructure for a modern SaaS platform
Define and implement Infrastructure as Code, observability, and reliability standards
Partner closely with software engineers to improve deployment, monitoring, and security practices
Help create a secure, scalable platform ready for production and growth
Act as a driver of change in a collaborative, low-bureaucracy engineering environment
What we're looking for
3+ years' experience in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, containers, and Kubernetes
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar)
Experience supporting Java-based applications
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Grafana, etc.)
Solid understanding of secure software development practices
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Nice to have
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch)
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)
Knowledge of cloud security tooling and practices
Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)
Previous experience enabling teams or taking on informal leadership
