Senior Data Engineer
12-Month Contract | South Kilkenny | Hybrid | Rate: DOE
My client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract with a competitive daily rate. This role is based in the South East, requiring 2 days per week onsite.
The Role
You'll be part of a seasoned team handling diverse data streams, from internal databases to external feeds. This is a hands-on role, where you'll create end-to-end data solutions, from concept and design to deployment and optimization.
What You'll Do
Lead development of efficient, scalable ETL pipelines across multiple data formats
Consolidate and structure datasets to be reusable across the organization
Build visual insights and reporting tools using industry-standard BI platforms
Optimize and maintain relational databases, ensuring performance and reliability
Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into practical data solutions
Skills & Experience
4+ years' experience as a Data Engineer, delivering full lifecycle projects
Expertise in cloud-based and traditional ETL tools
Experience moving and transforming data across relational and cloud systems
Strong SQL skills: coding, optimization, and troubleshooting complex queries
Familiarity with modern BI tools for reporting and dashboards
Comfortable working with stakeholders in a collaborative, agile setting
