Data Engineer

I'm currently recruiting for a data engineer based in Dublin, focusing on hybrid working. This is an initial 6-month contract, strong day rate available.

About the Role

• Design and evolve scalable data platforms, pipelines, data models and orchestration frameworks supporting analytics and operational systems.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product, Analytics and Operations teams to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions.
• Lead architecture decisions and technical improvements across platform reliability, observability, security and cost optimisation.

Requirements

• Previous experience in data engineering or software development, with strong experience delivering complex technical initiatives.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, cloud platforms and Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform.
• Previous experience with data modelling, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring and operating scalable cloud-based data platforms.

Desirable

• Experience with Snowflake and modern data technologies including Kafka, Spark or Databricks.
• Experience in regulated industries and knowledge of GDPR, data governance, privacy and compliance.
• Background in self-service data platforms, developer tooling, multi-cloud environments or hybrid infrastructure.
