MS Dynamics Business Central Consultant

Our client is looking for an experienced MS Dynamics Business Central Consultant to provide hands-on functional support through a Business Central implementation. The work covers testing, deployment, go-live and post-go-live support, then the handover into business-as-usual. This is a hybrid role based in Dublin on an 8-12 month day-rate contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day functional support to Business Central users across Finance and other key operational areas
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), helping users complete test scenarios, record results and identify issues
• Investigate and categorise queries and issues across user support, process, data, permissions, configuration, integration and application defects
• Work with business stakeholders, IT, functional specialists and external delivery partners to resolve and retest issues
• Assist with deployment, cutover and post-go-live activities, supporting critical transactions during the transition
• Keep clear records of defects, queries, outstanding actions and resolutions, with clear ownership and follow-up
• Produce user guides, FAQs, process notes and knowledge articles, and identify where users need extra training
• Hand over to ongoing support by documenting outstanding items, known issues and recurring queries before the contract ends

Key Skills

• 3+ years' recent hands-on experience supporting or consulting on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Involvement in at least one Business Central implementation, UAT programme, go-live or post-implementation support engagement
• Strong Business Central Finance knowledge, including postings, dimensions, posting groups and reconciliations
• Practical knowledge of at least two other Business Central areas, such as purchasing, sales, inventory, warehousing, fixed assets or manufacturing
• Experience troubleshooting functional and system issues and pinpointing their root cause
• Azure DevOps or a similar test, defect or ticketing platform
• Good understanding of Business Central permissions, roles, approval workflows and application controls
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder skills, with the ability to support users of all technical levels
• Desirable:MB-800 certification, Dynamics NAV experience, Power BI / Dynamics 365 CRM / Microsoft Fabric exposure, ITIL familiarity, experience in multi-location organisations
