Data Architect

I'm currently recruiting for a data architect based in Dublin. This is an initial 6-month contract focusing on hybrid working. Strong day rate available.

About the Role

• Lead the architecture of large-scale data platforms across multiple teams, covering data modelling, lakehouse architecture, governance and data delivery.
• Set technical direction, develop architecture roadmaps and standards, and influence key engineering decisions across the organisation.
• Remain hands-on through proofs of concept, reference architectures and technical design while providing guidance to Senior Engineers and Architects.

Requirements

• Previous experience designing and operating large-scale production data platforms, with strong Python and AWS expertise.
• Staff, Principal or Architect-level experience with strong data modelling, entity resolution, lakehouse and big-data architecture skills.
• Previous technical experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks, plus technologies such as PySpark, AWS Glue, EMR, Athena or Redshift.
• Strong understanding of data governance, PII, lineage, auditability, data contracts and API/data product design.

Desirable

• Experience with Apache Iceberg, streaming/serverless architectures
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads or large-scale data sharing platforms.
• Background in regulated or data-intensive sectors.
