Our client, an innovative Dublin-based medtech company developing implantable medical devices, is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to develop firmware for its implant and BLE controller systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for implantable devices and BLE-enabled controllers
- Write low-level drivers and bootloaders for low-power microcontrollers
- Implement secure over-the-air firmware update functionality
- Produce software documentation in line with IEC 62304
- Build Python-based test tools to verify firmware
Requirements
- 6+ years' experience in embedded software development
- Must have medical device experience
- Strong embedded C on low-power MCUs (e.g. ARM Cortex-M)
- Hands-on Bluetooth Low Energy experience
- Experience with drivers, bootloaders and hardware bring-up
Nice to Have
- IEC 62304 software lifecycle experience
- Secure boot and OTA update implementation
- Implantable or wearable device experience
- RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
- Python test automation
