Software Engineering Manager

My client was one of the fastest growing FinTechs in 2023, and are showing no signs of slowing down in 2024. Their products have exploded in popularity in the last few years, and they have no concerns over the wider economic conditions affecting some other tech companies.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a highly-skilled, growing and high-performance Software Development Team in the R&D department. The role involves working closely with Senior stakeholders in the company and will be strategic in scope. This means the successful applicant will be highly motivated, intelligent and comfortable working with multiple teams and stakeholders at every level of the business. 

This role may be suitable for experienced Technical Leads interested in a step away from hands-on coding and towards more focused people management.

Responsibilities: 

• Mentoring and coaching
• Recruit talent to build teams
• Oversee budget allocation
• Lead multidisciplinary teams
• Be a part of reinforcing a positive work culture, with a focus on transparency and trust
• Empower team members at all levels to contribute their ideas
• Work closely with the executive team to determine the strategy
• Create and support a culture of continuous improvement and education
• Lead a group of up to 20 Software Engineers, as well as DevOps Engineers, QAs and Architects

Requirements:

• 5+ years' in Software Development leadership positions
• A strong background in Object Orientated Programming using languages like C#, Java or C++
• Exemplary communication skills
• Strong knowledge of modern technologies and development methodologies
