The Role:
- Work with internal/external customers & third-party suppliers to drive seamless deployment of new customer solutions and the ongoing improvement of existing solutions, driving exceptional delivery experience for your customers.
- Work with the relevant teams on new Product Launches, feed in Technical Delivery requirements & assist in shaping product evolution to make products fit for purpose with streamlined processes.
- Engage with the Design/CTO teams to simplify the network and proactively drive automation of the plan and build tasks where possible.
- As required, work on project/bid-related tasks, represent the team to assess workload and resource requirements and feed into implementation & project plans.
- Identify and resolve potential technical issues at the technical validation stage to ensure issues are resolved before entering the delivery process
- Undertake complex problem diagnosis and resolution of customer issues identified during RTT/migrations of services.
- Work on Technical projects/delivery support tasks independently with minimal guidance. This may involve working alone or as part of a wider project/support team, managing and delivering on specific tasks.
- Proactively drive continuous improvement that will help drive efficiency, reduce cost and improve customer experience.
- Act as a source of technical expertise to others in their own area and across the business.
- Identify skills gaps within the team and proactively coach and mentor other team members to improve their skills.
- Perform configurations on equipment by guidelines, procedures and method statements, and strict adherence to the Network Activity Policy and Planned Engineering Works and Permit to Work Policies
- Participate in an on-call rota to support out-of-hours scheduled customer delivery
Requirements:
- CCNP or NRS2 level of certification
- Display innovative thinking by acting on own initiative to identify & resolve problems and drive continuous improvement
- Experience with major hardware vendors and platforms, including but not limited to Cisco, Nokia, Juniper
- Excellent knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies
- Strong expertise with BGP, OSPF and related routing protocols
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Scripting/coding experience desirable but not essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Layer2 & Layer3 protocols
- Previous experience working in an Operational / delivery role.
- 5 Years + experience across wide variety of IP Solutions in varying roles
